Prayer, a translation...

Prayer, a translation...

Prayer is translation. A man translates himself into a child asking for all there is in a language he has barely mastered ~ Leonard Cohen

God warms his hands at man’s heart when he prays ~ John Masefield

We waste most of our time trying to get God to do something he has already done, or praying for God to do something he told us to do ~ Jacquelyn K. Heasley

Work as if you were to live a hundred years. Pray as if you were to die tomorrow ~ Benjamin Franklin

Do not pray for easy lives. Pray to be stronger men. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks ~ Phillips Brooks

Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us ~ Socrates

The function of prayer is not to influence God, but rather to change the nature of the one who prays ~ Soren Kierkegaard

  2. Powerful, faithful and grace filled images of conversation with the Almighty..!!

True, we don't pray to inform God but to invite him into our lives and to work together with Him..
He uses prayer to grow us and even taught how to pray..!

Prayer, a translation..windows into our souls..it's like, 'God please gimme more knowledge. Amen'..!!
