When shadows took pen…

When shadows took pen

Light and shadows makes a good photograph. The word Shadow have a negative impact in our life. But these shadows makes the life of a photographer. If we are walking towards the light our shadow will follow us, else if we are in the wrong direction we will follow our shadow. For every shadow there is a brighter side. During my journey in search of these shadows, me and my shadow met some people whom I have captured with their shadows but in real life they are always shining.

Once this 86 year old lady was the light for our house and now she is the shadow for the new light, my mom. After this job I am unable to wake up at 6 in the morning at the age of 60 and 86 these two ladies used to wake up and prepare tea for me. As the day passes in the calendar, depth of our shadow increases and when it is complete dark the calendar of our life stops. So before the calendar stops make it colorful and be the inspiration for others.

      Man in the Tram...

In 1873 Britain started the first tram in India(Kolkata). The old man in the picture was a tram driver once upon a time in Kolkata. Now he is retired from his official duty but still he is a daily passenger in these trams and is still a driver in his dreams.

Future dreams...

Future is in these hands. When the surrounding world has been conquered by their own shadows this young man is still fighting to survive in the battle with own shadow.

 Defeat...

The entire world woke up. The entire world is running through he track of life but this man is being defeated by his own shadow. Why???? He has just come from the night shift. Let the world run, walk, dance, let them do what ever they want. Let me sleep other wise neither me nor my shadow will be capable for an another journey.

Behind the sets in the shadow...

Once upon a time he was a famous theatre artists. He used to perform in front of thousands and his facial expressions were exposed by the huge bright halogen lamps. Now due to the medical condition no acting in the stage only the real acting in life. There is no audience to see him, there is no halogen lamp to make him glow. The evening sun is making him glow where the shadow is chasing him.

Gathering...

Once this lady was the light for an entire family. She used to work as a maid and made her children grow. Now they have become old and now she is in their shadow. She is in a return journey to her home after a small vacation with her son.

With my shadow and light

Mr. Rao is a retired CBI Dy. Director. He is enjoying his retirement life with his real life light and shadow, WIFE. When he was a child he was unable to enjoy his life because of poverty. When he was young he was unable to enjoy his life because of his family responsibility. When he got the job he was unable to enjoy because of his job responsibility and as far as he is concerned, now after retirement, still he is unable to enjoy his life because of jobless people like me…

Not yet surrendered...

This lady witnessed two world wars, Indian freedom movement, Suffered during the Bangladesh war and many more…But still she is not yet tired and surrendered to her own shadow. She wakes up at 4 in the morning, she will take bath and pray. Then she will clean the house and surroundings and then she will take water to home. In the evenings we can see this lady sitting in front of the house and telling stories to children about the sun who give us light during day and moon who gives us light during night.

Shadows make life very beautiful but that is we, who decides whether to look for the darker side of the shadow or the brighter side which made the shadow...
